In short, Guru.com is an online platform that serves people like you and me to find freelance jobs and make money. It is something similar to Fiverr and Upwork but from my experience, I can say that it is a little better than those two.

And yes, Guru is a legit platform so you should not worry about getting scammed or anything similar.

Maybe the biggest problem with this platform is that you will lose a lot of time trying to get a proper job for you as there are many people who are doing the same.

What Is Guru About?

Guru.com is an online marketplace where you can find a job as a freelancer or you can offer a job as an employer. As I already said, it is something similar to Freelancer.com or Fiverr. You are going to get paid every time you get a job done for the people you registered to do the job.

What I was surprised to see is that there are not many good reviews about this online platform but primarily because people can’t find the right job for them.

You know, although freelancing is popular today and people are working online, freelancing is not a great option to start making some serious cash online. It can take months and even years before you find a job that will pay your bills.

That is why I always wanted to start my own online business and work full-time online, that online business today pays me bills and I have the freedom to travel and do whatever I want in my life and passive income keeps coming through my website.

I don’t want to say that Guru is bad and that you can’t find a job but it is hard and you will certainly lose a lot of time surfing the platform for the job.

How Does Guru Work?

Let me be clear right from the start, if you want to register on Guru you will need to have at least 18 because it is not allowed for underage people to join Guru.

Registration is free and you only need to make a username and password and you are set to go.

When you register successfully you will have the option to choose from 2 different memberships, freelancer and employer. if you want to make money by doing online tasks you will want to choose a freelancer membership.

There is also a feature called Bids where you need to pay to be able to get as many jobs as you want. Bids are actually gigs, you probably know that if you were on Fiverr or Upwork. Here are the prices for those Bids:

  • 40 bids – $20
  • 60 bids – $30
  • 125 bids – $50
  • 250 bids – $100

These bids do not have expiration data so you don’t need to hurry to spend them, if you don’t spend them in a month they will be moved into the next month.

Keep in mind that these bids have nothing to do with your free membership or paid membership. Now I am gonna talk about prices so you know what option you have.

How Much Does Guru Cost?

Although Guru.com is a free platform for freelancers where you can join completely for free, it also has some paid options if you want to ”level up” your account and get some advantages.

• Basic + – $11.95/month or $8.95/month paid annually
• Professional – $21.95/month or $15.95/month paid annually
• Business – $33.95/month or $24.95/month paid annually
• Executive – $49.95/month or $39.95/month paid annually

With a Basic plan, you are going to get 10 Bids every month which means that you can apply for 10 jobs and send 10 offers to the potential employer.

With every paid plan you are going to get more and more Bids.

So, if you are a beginner and you just want to test the platform and see how it works, you will be fine with the basic, free plan so you don’t have to pay anything for the start. Later if you find it useful you can upgrade to a higher membership plan.

Is Guru Legit?

Yes, Guru is a legit platform where you can register if you want to work as a freelancer and make money online. It is something similar to Upwork but honestly, I can say that Guru is a better option than Upwork or even Fiverr.

Registration is completely free so you are not losing anything by just registering and seeing for yourself how it works. There are many people inside who are making a full-time income thanks to freelancing but keep in mind that it takes a lot of time and effort.

When it comes to the payments they are regular and based on my research they have never missed paying out their clients and freelancers.

Guru.com is definitely a good platform where you can test your skills as a freelancer and make money by doing for others. It is a legit platform and if you have ever worked on Fiverr or Upwork you will know to work on Guru too, it may be even easier.

I know that there are so many people who are working as full-time freelancers and that is okay. What I personally like is creating your own online business and making a passive income.
