If you wanted to make money by doing affiliate marketing you have probably applied for some affiliate programs because without them, you can’t make money in affiliate marketing.
I have never had problems with affiliate programs but I have seen many people have this problem and so I decided to explain in this article how to get accepted in affiliate programs easily and without stress.
One of my clients send me a message in my inbox that a couple of affiliate programs rejected him and his website as he is not ”qualified” to join.
That is true you will see by yourself that many affiliate programs will reject you and with that, you will not have a chance to make money.
In this article, I will share my personal strategies and ways I used to be accepted by affiliate programs in absolutely any niche.
But before we get to the core let’s see first what are affiliate programs and how they work. This is important to know because based on that you will know why you get rejected.
What Is Affiliate Program?
Affiliate programs are basically platforms that offer affiliates an opportunity to make money online by promoting someone’s products or services.
If you are an affiliate marketer you can’t earn without joining an affiliate program in a specific niche. Some of the most popular affiliate programs are:
- Amazon Affiliate
- and others
Affiliate programs offer you all the promotional material like images, banners, and affiliate links so that you can use it on your website or another platform you use for promotion.
Inside the affiliate program, you can also discover how much can you earn from each sale you make. Sometimes you will get a percentage of a successful sale and sometimes you will get a fixed rate, it all depends on the affiliate program where you register.
Affiliate programs are free to join so you don’t need some special requirements BUT there is a possibility that you might get rejected and that is what I want to talk about today.
Although you can join for free there is no guarantee that you will be accepted, you should still have some quality requirements before applying to affiliate programs.
So, How To Get Accepted Into Affiliate Program? (5 Easy Steps)
Now I am gonna share my personal strategies when it comes to applying to affiliate programs like let’s say Amazon or even Clickbank.
If you are a beginner in affiliate marketing you can’t start applying just like that, you should focus on some other things before you apply and get accepted.
1. Create a Niche Website
First things first, forget about doing affiliate marketing without a website, you need one if you plan to make decent money online.
A niche website is a website where you are talking about a specific niche. The point is that affiliate programs simply love niche websites because in that case, they are sure that the website will make sales.
Many beginners start their website where they talk about their life or something similar, that is BS. You must create a website in a profitable niche that is suitable for affiliate marketing.
Take a look here on my website, I am primarily talking about affiliate marketing and I am primarily focused on that topic. My website is not about everything. Your website should not be too.
If you have chosen to write only about food for Labradors on your website then just stick to that! Do not change the topic at all costs because your website will suffer in terms of rankings.
Amazon is a pretty strong but also a very cautious affiliate program and if you have a niche website you will be accepted 100%. If your website is about everything you will be rejected.
When it comes to creating a website, it can’t be easier today. You just need to invest in a hosting and domain name and you are ready to go.
You don’t need any experience or something similar, website builders are doing all the hard work for you.
Just click on the link below and you will learn how to create your niche website in minutes!
2. Start Creating Great Content
The most important thing when it comes to a niche website is CREATING quality content consistently.
Affiliate programs like Amazon or CJ want to see great content on your website so in that way, they will know that you are gonna start making sales.
I see many guys create their websites and start immediately start applying for affiliate programs although they don’t have even 10 articles on their blog. That is a big mistake you must avoid.
The point is that you must create niche content on your website and you should avoid writing about everything that comes to your mind. Just STICK to your niche!
If you chose that your niche would be ”healthy food for Labradors” then just stick to it, do not start writing about cat food, etc.
In most cases, people get rejected by affiliate programs because their website is about everything. Not only you will not get accepted in affiliate programs but you will also NOT get ranked in the search engines like Google.
Google loves it when your website is circling around a specific niche and if you can do that you will be well rewarded!
There are hundreds of profitable niches that you can start when it comes to affiliate marketing. Make sure to check the link below for my full guide on how to find the perfect niche for affiliate marketing.
It is not enough to choose a niche, you must choose a profitable niche that will make you money!
3. Start Implementing SEO On Your Website
If you want to make real money with affiliate marketing and get approved in affiliate programs you will need to start doing the basics of SEO, like On-Page optimization.
You don’t need to be an SEO expert or anything similar, you just need to implement the basics and you will do well. Each and every of your post should be SEO optimized.
The point of SEO is to bring you quality traffic from search engines. You have probably ”googled” something many times. Let’s say that I am looking for the ”best whey protein for beginners”.
When I type that in Google he will give me the results and show me the sites that have given an answer to my search query. The site owner did a great job when it comes to the SEO so he is on the first page on google for that keyword.
SEO takes time but it is definitely worth it. You can get free organic traffic from search engines and the organic traffic converts the best so you will make affiliate commissions regularly.
Most affiliate programs want to see organic traffic on a website before approving them. If you are getting free traffic from search engines every affiliate program will accept you.
4. Start Driving Quality Traffic To Your Website
SEO is definitely the best source of getting free traffic to your website but that is not the only one you can or should use. There are many ways where you can start getting traffic, almost immediately:
- Quora is great for getting free traffic
- Paid ads (not recommended)
- Social media like Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok
- YouTube channel
All these are free ways to get more traffic to your blog except for paid ads where you need to pay to get traffic from search engines. I do not recommend that you use paid advertisements but instead focus on free traffic like SEO and social media.
It is very important that you have traffic on your website because most affiliate programs are looking for that. Most beginners are rejected because their website has 0 traffic or low-quality content.
More content on your website means more traffic so make sure that you work on that BEFORE applying to affiliate programs.

5. Start Applying To Affiliate Programs
When you have your own niche website and you started getting traffic on it you are ready to start applying to affiliate programs in your niche.
That is also very important, you should choose and apply to affiliate programs that are relevant to your niche. You should not promote anything and everything to your audience, in that case, you will not convert or make any sales.
If you are talking on your website about fitness equipment then find and apply for affiliate programs that offer such products and services.
The best way to find a relevant affiliate program is to go to Google and do some research. Just type ”your niche + affiliate program” without quotes and Google will give you sites that offer affiliate partnerships in your specific niche.
If you click on the link below you can see what are the best-rated affiliate programs you can choose for yourself and start making serious passive income online.
Before I finish this article let me explain to you some more things about what affiliate programs look for when they decide if will they accept you or not. This is also very important.
The Factors Affiliate Programs Take In Count When Approving
As I have said this is very important to know and I am sure that after this you will be prepared to rock when it comes to making money with affiliate marketing.
Affiliate programs definitely look at some factors while considering whether should they accept some websites or not. Let’s see what it is about.
1. Domain Age Is Important
If you have a completely new website on a new domain it will be difficult for affiliate programs to accept you. Some rule is that the domain should be at least 3 months old so that programs can accept it.
This is because new domains usually have nothing, no domain authority, no SEO, no traffic, nothing. Because of it, many new websites get rejected.
The point is that you should actively work on your website for at least 3 months before you start applying for affiliate programs.
2. Niche Of a Website
The website niche is also a very important factor you should know about. There are affiliate programs that will not accept just any niche website. Your niche should be profitable and you should stick to publishing relevant content, depending on your chosen niche.
If your website is about everything you will be probably rejected.
3. Traffic On a Website
This is maybe the most important factor when it comes to affiliate programs. If you have 0 traffic you will certainly be denied. You should primarily work on getting quality traffic to your website before applying.
Honestly, I don’t see a point in applying to affiliate programs when you have 0 traffic. It is obvious that you will earn nothing but people still do that, I don’t know why.
4. The Promotion Platform You Apply With
To start making money with affiliate marketing you must first choose where you plan to do it. You must choose the platform for doing promotions and making sales so affiliate programs are looking for that too.
Some of the platforms where you can do affiliate marketing are:
Obviously, the most ”acceptable” option will be the website (and YouTube). That is why I am encouraging people to start their own niche website where they will be making passive income from affiliate marketing.
Everyone will accept you if you have a niche website with nice traffic, you don’t need thousands of visitors on your website but you must have some. Many affiliate programs will also ask you for your Google Analytics screenshot so you must provide them with that.
Some Final Words
Honestly, I hope that this article helped you to find out how to get accepted into affiliate programs easily and without any problem.
The point is that you must work on your website if you want to make a real business online with affiliate marketing. Everyone can make money doing it but you must start it and be consistent.
I was doing the same things as I have written above to be accepted in some most popular and most profitable affiliate programs. They just want to see a quality, niche website they can trust and you can give them that in 2-3 months if you work as it should.
Affiliate marketing is not expensive but it is VERY powerful and can make you a rich person, I know that from my personal experience.
